WEALSOHAVESTANDARD letters that we send out to attendees and exhibitors from overseas. We have also summarized the info from the government website on our own website: http://www.imex america.com/visa.html. Carina Bauer CEO IMEX Group

I STRONGLYRECOMMEND you confirm this attendee is viable. Having done international confer- ences in the Asia-Pacific region, I regularly received requests for assis- tance fromattendees in ThirdWorld countrieswho justwanted away out, not away to our conference. I also agree with KatherineMan-

fredi—start early. Countries like Brazil and India and several others have an insane waiting period to get visas, and some countries also have a cap that they cannot go over. Elizabeth Fleming Duggar,CMP International Meeting and Event Planner Washington, D.C.

WEUSEDASTANDARDTEM- plate that contained the info that Michael listed in his comment. Also, we required that the attendee be registered and pay for the confer- ence before we sent the letter. If for some reason they could not get their visa, we would refund their registra- tion. In some cases they required an invitation from us asking them to attend or speak. At the conference registration desk, I had a certificate- of-attendance template in case someone needed proof of atten- dance other than their receipt.
