Chatter CATCH PHOTOGRAPH RELEASE

BRENDAN WILLIAMS CLINTON, NEW JERSEY

Success! Brendan bested this 25-inch hybrid bass after an exciting 10-minute fight on four-pound test.

RIVIERE DES MILLES ILES, LAVAL, QUEBEC KRISTIAN BLACK

Kris was enjoying a morning full of small fish until this beautiful 32-inch pike smacked his spinnerbait. “As you can see, a picture-worthy fish!” he wrote. We wholeheartedly agree.

CHESAPEAKE BAY, VIRGINIA JAY BROOKS

VirginiaKayakFisherman.com owner Jay tagged and released this 25-inch citation sheepshead during the calm before Hurricane Irene.

SEABROOK ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA MIKE BRUPBACHER

Mike fooled this 28-incher with a “deadly combo,” a Redfish Magic spinnerbait tipped with Gulp Alive. It evens the score with his girlfriend Amy Zeitz. She cracked CPR with a 22- inch red back in 2010.

MANITOWISH RIVER, NORTHERN WISCONSIN TOM LEEMAN SOMEWHERE IN THE FLORIDA KEYS JIM DUFFY

“This tarpon released me unharmed after pulling me into a bridge,” Jim wrote of this spectacular jumper. What a ride!

10 …KAYAK ANGLER SPRING 2012 SAN MARTIN ISLAND, NORTHERN BAJA, MEXICO GILBERT HERNANDEZ

Gilbert and fellow fishing team member Ken Rosburg motored their Hobies out to a remote speck of kelp-fringed oceanic rock for a shot at big calicos like this estimated 6-pounder. It chewed a Bugz Bait spiked with a Berkley curly tail grub.

Neither Tom nor this 20-inch bronzeback were put off by a little rain. The chunky smallmouth snapped up a 3-inch Berkley Gulp Hellgramite in black with red fleck.

DON THEORET HALIBURTON, ONTARIO

Don’s 20-inch smallmouth tied for big fish honors at the Haliburton Kayak Fishing Classic last September. He’s no glory hog—we think he’s justly proud of his second-ever 5-pound kayak smallie.

NEW MARLBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS

AUDREY CARRANO ONE THOUSAND ACRE SWAMP,

“I was extremely happy and completely shocked that I could catch something of that size because I only recently starting fishing. I still can’t believe it!” Audrey said of her impressive 22-inch largemouth.
