WE don’t know too much about Waze & Odyssey who claim they were raised “in a basement in Queens, New York, USA after being orphaned, their parents, Lanoi and Sid seemingly walking into the cold of night never to return”, spent their youth in Ear Wax Records, the funk & soul record shop of their adopted father, then a decade as residents at Garage $ale in Toronto.

Whatever the truth, their forthcoming ‘C’mon’ EP for Body Work is one of our Killers in the March issue of DJ Mag

(available now in shops or from Djmag.com/shop), mixing classic house, disco and techier sounds. Top of their chart is the equally excellent ‘Ah Baby (Here We Go Again)’ with it’s ‘90s New York skip. And loving everyone else from the UK garage of RIP Groove to Motor City Drum Ensemble’s moody ‘There’s A Truth’, they’ve got an equal set of gems as DJs.

So is the inclusion of DJ Pain’s boshing trance yet another curveball to fool their fans? Nope, just a good old fashioned mistake from Beatport...
