can work in sections, taking a bar here, four bars there and start moving things around. Making the music in the mix blend has always been a troublesome issue for DJs and here we can use Live’s clip transposing function again to tune the tracks together in perfect key. From there we take a more advanced production technique - sidechain compression to add an energetic ‘ducking’ effect to the mix, ensuring that the transition carries the fl avour of modern dance music. A simple fade would be cool but this sounds far more effective. Lastly we use track automation to control Live’s devices within the mix, programming changes over time in perfect sync with the tracks events. Its always been said the best DJs will naturally become good producers and vice versa, here’s a way that you can start living up to the mantle and make
