Landschaften mit Schluchten, Tälern und Hochebenen windet, die auf einer Höhe von 1.219 bis 2.743 m liegen. Auf dieser berauschenden Panoramastrasse stößt man auf archäologische, kulturelle, historische und landschaftliche Sehenswürdigkeiten.
SCENIC BYWAY 143 – UTAHS ABWECHSLUNGSREICHSTE BUNDESSTRASSE
Utahs jüngste Panoramastraße durchquert den Dixie National Forest von Panguitch nach Parowan nördlich von Cedar City. Die Passstraße, die rund 1.370 Höhenmeter überwindet und kurz hinter Brian Head 3.170 m erreicht, durchläuft auf einer Länge von 82 km sechs verschiedene Vegetationszonen und führt vorbei am Panguitch Lake und am Cedar Breaks National Monument. Während tagsüber Wanderungen, Radtouren und im Winter Skifahren locken, blickt man hier nachts in einen der dunkelsten und gleichzeitig sternenreichsten Himmel der Erde.
