FUTURE MUSIC 2012, AUSTRALIA Look into the Future! Australia’s leading festival for dance music readies itself for next installment…

As they say, you are only as good as your last show. Well, the same applies to festivals, especially if you are the biggest one for dance music in Australia. But fear not; Future Music Festival may have just managed it. Boasting an enviably epic, eclectic line-up as long and noisy as a didgeridoo – including New Order, Friendly Fires, Zane Lowe, Dubfi re, Porter Robinson, Jamie Jones and Azari & III –, if you like quality music, you’ll be in fi ne company.

For the last two years the Chemical Brothers have headlined, so it’s always going to be tough to top their phenomenal stage show, however the task was made a little easier for the festival’s director, Brett Robinson,

when he received a rather helpful phone call from one of the brothers himself. “When Ed Chemical and his manager Alex went to Paris to see New Order’s fi rst show back from their hiatus,” Bret explains. “They called me the instant they left the show to say ‘if you know what’s good for you, book them straight away, the show was every bit as good as it ever has been’. Next day we went and did just that!”

Taking place between 3rd and 12th March at various Australian locations – Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide –, featuring everything from trance demi-gods to underground cool- cats, it’s time to get down(under) at Future Music 2012
