LOVE IN ME (ORIGINAL MIX) LAURA JONES LEFTROOM RECORDS

LAST year was undoubtedly a monumental year for Leeds based produced Laura Jones who launched herself into the world with a bang, releasing her debut single ‘Love in Me’ on Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom Records and dropping ‘Live A Little’ on Visionquest the same month. Since then we suspect that she’s been living a lot, having given up her job to pursue music fulltime, following in the footstep of her boyfriend, DJ and producer Gavin Herlihy, and hanging out with the travelling Hot Natured/Crosstown Rebels road show.

Looking at her chart, she was also dropping some of our favourite tunes in 2011. Fancy your house as dark and moody as the 1st of January? Check out Tale of Us’ kohl smudged remix of WhoMadeWho. Leftfield acid house? Step up Caribou with his peerless remix of Chicago legends Virgo Four. And on the subject of Chicago, Tevo Howard’s ‘Spend Some Time’ is possibly one of the most underrated tunes of last year. Catch our interview with Laura in the January issue of DJ Mag, in shops now or available from DJmag.com/shop.
