The provisions on time limits are the most signifi cant in the new Regulations. Two other amendments are worth noting:


• Reg. 47G, the automatic stay, is modifi ed, to refl ect the change to the means by which proceedings are started. Whereas previously the stay came into effect when a Claim Form was served, it will come into effect in the future when the authority becomes aware that it has been issued.


New thresholds


The European Commission has recently published the new public procurement fi nancial thresholds which will apply from 1 January 2012. The new thresholds will apply for award procedures under the Public Contracts Regulations 2006, the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2006 and the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011.
