Small is beautiful? – outlook for smaller service providers
Operators in the health and care sector continue to face upheaval and change brought about by pressures from political and market forces. But the social care sector at least had some good news in the last Spending Review with the announcement of additional funding of £2 billion by 2014/15 which should help to provide a stable fi nancial base. Alongside this funding comes a policy pledge by the Coalition Government to revolutionise the public services landscape, which could pave the way for smaller leaner service providers to thrive.
