EGYPT Welcome
Welcome to Egypt T
here’s probably never been a better time to visit Egypt than right now. Prices, which were already among the lowest of mainstream holiday destinations, are quite a bit lower than they have been for some time and visitors can enjoy some lighter crowds while soaking up the sun in the country’s many resorts, and absorbing the country’s centuries-old history in centres like Luxor and Giza.
Whether in search of Egypt’s fascinating history, focussed on the Pharaonic culture that flourished between 3000BC and 30BC, or simply to laze in the sun, visitors will encounter two main seasons; mild winters between November and April and warm to hot summers from May to October. Around the Red Sea, mid-winter temperatures are a pleasant 22C while in Luxor, further south, 24C is the going rate.
Even in Cairo it’s around 20C. Getting to Egypt is easy with flights from almost 20 UK airports to six different gateways from Cairo in the north to Aswan in the south.
There are a wealth of holiday opportunities in Egypt and this Travel Guide will help you choose the best options from the frenetic city of Cairo and its pyramids of Giza to the beaches and corals of the Red Sea. In between are the golden sands of the Western Desert, the cultural riches of the Nile Valley, with its tombs and temples, Nile River cruises or the Mediterranean resorts and their cosmopolitan metropolis, Alexandria.
Whatever the choice, singly or in combination, Egypt will exceed every imagination.
