Welcome to the ILTM Cannes Post Show Issue.
A very Happy New Year from all at ILTM where we are still buzzing with the success of last month’s 10th anniversary ILTM in Cannes.
“The agents, every one of them thought the event was outstanding,” were the words of Priscilla Alexander, President of the US’ Protravel International about ILTM 2011. Against a backdrop of economic uncertainty, the energy at the Palais des Festivals was palpable with almost 50,000 individual meetings taking place between the industry’s elite. This month’s Insider takes you through some of the highlights of ILTM 2011, demonstrating that luxury travel truly is an industry based on relationships.
With a thriving press briefi ng area and onsite tweating reaching unprecedented levels, the mood at ILTM was unreservedly positive with new experiences and global expansion plans being announced throughout the event. Mike Bonner, General Manager UK, Ireland & Middle East at Silversea Cruises commented, “ILTM 2011 was the best yet. It remains one of the most well organised and relevant trade shows for the luxury travel industry.”
Many luxury suppliers in Cannes were delighted with the interest they saw from emerging markets including the Asia Pacifi c at ILTM and are now eagerly anticipating this year’s ILTM Asia taking place from 4 – 7 June in Shanghai.
ILTM Asia is recognised as the hub of luxury travel across the Asia Pacifi c. Page 12 sets the scene for ILTM Asia 2012 – a vital event for any elite travel company wishing to increase business from across this rich and diverse region. We look forward to welcoming an incredible range of luxury travel suppliers from across the world to meet with the buying elite from across the Asia Pacifi c region.
