Launch and delivery Delta releases
offshore RIB trio Rigid inflatable boat (RIB) manufacturer Delta Power Group has released three new craſt, specifically built for the offshore sector. Te first two, delivered in October and November 2011 to an unspecified international offshore operator, and bound for operations in the UK, comprise sister 8m Delta SX Workboat Crew Transfer Craſt designs. Each of the vessels is powered by a single Yanmar 4LHA-STP 176.5kW engine, which, combined with a Hamilton Jet 213 waterjet, provides a top speed of 27knots when lightly laden, or 24.5 with three crew and five persons on board. Te vessels will feature Kevlar- reinforced bow protectors and closed cell foam fendering systems, for added safety and craſt protection. The third recently completed vessel

Phantom design, emergency response rescue vessel (ERRV), which will be deployed in the Arctic basin during oil exploration activities. Te vessel was specifi-
cally assembled with the region’s extreme tempera- tures in mind and to protect onboard systems from the effects of wind chill, one example being the positioning of the radar scanner assembly within a heated radome. Additionally, the vessel features heated front windows and an upgraded electrical package for operational capability at temperatures descending to -40°C. The ERRV Phantom is powered by two Yanmar
6LPA-STZP engines, each generating 232kW, driving Hamilton Jet HJ274 waterjets through ZF63C gearboxes. Te vessel can achieve a top speed of 31knots. OMT
