Footwear Friends Celebrate the Fifth Annual Awards Evening
The Fifth Annual Footwear Friends Awards evening took place last night, Tuesday November 1, at the intriguing Musical Museum
The evening was a celebration of young entrepreneurs and an opportunity to support the Footwear Friends charity in its 175th year.
In addition to performances on some of the vintage musical instruments and demonstrations of the automata, one of the highlights of the evening was the Mighty Wurlitzer rising from the stage with a stellar performance by Richard Cole, curator of the Museum.
Katie Greenyer, Creative Director at Pentland was the keynote speaker with a humorous and well received talk.
Savina Barnes of Stylistpick won the ‘Year’s Worth of Shoes’ Raffle’, generously donated by Dune.

This was presented by Nicholas Parry Billings of the British Footwear Association.
Richard Kottler, President of Footwear Friends commented: “This fifth year of the Awards saw a great response by applicants for the competition who all put a great deal of work into their business plans and presentations.
Sadly there is only room for three winners of the awards, but there is no doubting the quality of our homegrown talent.
I am also delighted that so many people attended the event and by doing so supported the trade’s unique charity, particularly in its 175th year. And everybody enjoyed the Mighty Wurlitzer!”
