Give back with C2C
The CCC is partnering with Cradles to Crayons (C2C) to bring you two opportunities to give back to the community.
Founded in 2002, Cradles to Crayons (C2C) is an innovative nonprofit that provides disadvantaged children, free of charge, with the essential items that all kids need in order to flourish. They work with many organizations in Cambridge and rely on volunteers like you to assist in their daily work.
The CCC’s Fall Community Service Day will take place at Cradles to Crayons' Giving Factory on Friday, November 4 from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch at their facility. At the Giving Factory, volunteers come together and make it all happen. In the warehouses, you will inspect incoming books, match outfits, sort and test toys, stuff backpacks, or fill orders that meet the needs of individual boys and girls in local communities. Encourage your colleagues to come work as a team or individually to help Cradles to Crayons provide these critical services. Register for this event now.
Cradles to Crayons is located at 155 North Beacon Street in Brighton, behind the new WGBH, and is easily accessible from Cambridge. Parking is available on North Beacon Street that is not residential nor does it have a two hour limit. Alternate parking may be available behind the warehouse (turn off of Life Street after the purple door). For public transportation, take the 64 or 86 bus or walk from the Warren stop on the B line.
The CCC office is also serving as a collection site for Cradles to Crayons. Donate new and gently used children's clothing, footwear and books (we cannot accept baby equipment due to space constraints). Drop off your donations between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or bring to any Chamber event. See donations guidelines at www.cambridgechamber.org/chamber/news_c2c.html.
