FM: You’ve been off the air for a while, what brought you back?
CP: I started pitching the project again. I’ve been pitching the project but I’ve had trouble getting it back on the air. It’s been a combination of finding the appropriate films to show (and getting high quality broadcast copies of them) and then partly because I’d go from one project to another. I did a move called ELVIRA’S HAUNTED HILLS and then later did a reality show SEARCH FOR THE NEXT ELVIRA, and in-between there pitching pitching pitching Moves and TV shows all the time. So I finally got a deal doing the show in syndication, which was my dream to do. It took a long time.
FM: The Elvira reality show was a lot of fun. Tell us about the winner.
CP: I just ran into the winner, April Wahlin in San Francisco up at Wonder-Con. April had a one-year contract to do appearances that I couldn’t make due to time. It was originally going to be called “The Search for Another Elvira” but that didn’t sound like such a catchy name so we changed it to “Seach For The Next Elvira” which caused many people to think that I was retiring and she was taking over, but in fact that’s not what it really was. I was
looking for another “Elvira” sanctioned by me, who could go out and do other appearances that I couldn’t do. It’s over now, but it was fun while it lasted. I guess the title of the show was misleading!
FM: So ELVIRA’S MOVIE MACABRE is now syndicated?
CP: Yeah, it’s on a different chagfnnel in every city, so to find it you can to to www.elvira.com
to look up the TV listings to find out what time and station it’s on in your area. We’ve just been picked
up for a second season and will be getting a better time slot. We’ve been on at 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning, which is tough for some people, but not necessarily for my fans. So I think it will be
closer to midnight in most areas now.
FM: We’ll with the advent of video recorders I’m sure your fans will zap it at whatever time it’s on and watch it over and over again!
CP: Exactly. I love FAMOUS MONSTERS . . . Thanks!
