THE PUNISHER TO BE ADAPTED FOR TELEVISION IN NEW FOX SERIES


The Punisher, the Marvel vigilante with a skull emblazoned on his chest, has been given a pilot commitment from Fox. This new series will focus on Frank Castle’s rise through the ranks of the NYPD as a detective during the day while doling out justice as The Punisher by night.


BEN AFFLECK TO TAKE THE STAND FOR WARNER BROS


Ben Affleck, currently shooting the Iranian hostage crisis thriller ARGO, has been picked by Warner Bros. to direct a feature film adaptation of Stephen King’s apocalyptic epic THE STAND.


PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 BREAKS BOX-OFFICE


PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3, a prequel showcasing the origins of the hauntings surrounding Katie and Kristi, has just earned $54 million in its opening weekend. The film managed to stay true to its roots and delivers exactly what the audience is hoping to get, consequently pushing it to be the box-office king of October as well as giving it the highest opening weekend box-office numbers for any horror film ever.


BURTON BUILDS BALLOON FOR MACY’S PARADE


“There’s always been something about balloons.” Tim Burton, the gothic filmmaker famous for ALICE IN WONDERLAND, SWEENEY TODD and BEETLEJUICE, has finally been brought on board to design a new balloon for next month’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Relishing the opportunity, Burton has designed “B. Boy” - a ghoulish Frankenstein variant, assembled from leftover balloons from children’s parties.
