years (were computers even invented then?) but we just completely re- vamped the whole thing so it’s much more interactive with the fans. We do live chats, video- streaming and behind the scenes stuff for my TV show that we couldn’t do before. I think it’s really fun, so I hope everyone will check it out. We also have some cool old content that’s never been seen so it’s a whole new ballpark.
www.elvira.com, so come by and check it out!
FM: As part of the new fan club do you interact live with your devotees now?
CP: Yeah, we’re doing live chats from the studio when I shoot my movie. And whenever I do a convention or TV appearance I’ll be interacting with fans. We have a chat room where I’ll pop in to say Hi and see what’s going on.
FM: I hear you have a new theme for your show now?
Sadly, with the passing of the years the horror host has become an endangered species. Gone are the days when Zacherley and Sammy Terry were just a few of the many hosts found on the airwaves across the country. All but a few remain, and many of those aren’t the originals, just imitations that often pale in comparison to their originators. But there is one that cannot be held down (well, maybe if you ask nicely). There is one that will always be “The Mistress of the Dark”: Elvira. FM stops by to chat with horror’s first lady about her enduring legacy and how she’s working to keep classic horror. . .ALIVE!
FM: Hi Cassandra, this is Sean from Famous Monsters. How are you today?
CP: I’m great, how are you doing? 6
FM: I’m fantastic. So glad you could stop by to touch base and catch up. So we understand you have some new developments with your web site.
CP: I’ve had the same website for about 29 THE GRAVEYARD EXAMINER • OCTOBER 24-30, 2011
CP: Yeah, it was produced by the most incredible musician and singer in the world in my opinion, Jack White, from The White Stripes. Jack’s record company THIRD MAN RECORDS put it out and it’s now on 7” picture disc and it’s available on my web site and it’s really really cool. It’s comes as a mummy in a coffin and it glows in the dark. The song is really really cool and I love love love the song. It’s updating the theme a little bit since I came back so people won’t mistake this show for the old one.
