confidential client wind farm feasibility assessments
WsP was commissioned to investigate the potential to develop wind farms at ten sites across Central and southern scotland. Works included: wind speed/ energy yield analysis, high level grid connection assessment, planning policy considerations including landscape, noise mapping, environmental/ecology/ ornithology review, constraints analysis and feasibility report and site prioritisation.
We are undertaking full EIAs and supporting on public consultations for the first three sites, located in south Lanarkshire.
Health & safety services to Gamesa
WsP was appointed by gamesa to assess the h&s compliance of the physical design of a wind farm tower against UK h&s legislation, including consideration of installation and future inspection and maintenance operations. Project delivery comprised a site visit to the manufacturing plant in spain, a review of applicable legislation with interpretation, a gap analysis to review the existing tower against relevant legislative compliance requirements, and a report to summarise the gap analysis and existing level of compliance.
