Continue to Savannah where your hotel, Hyatt Regency Savannah, overlooks the waterfront and is close to River Front Plaza. 3. DISCOVER HISTORIC SAVANNAH A private tour of the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace precedes a visit to the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum, chronicling the great Atlantic trading era. Sightsee Savannah, home to America’s largest landmark district (over 1,000 restored buildings) with a local expert, then spend the afternoon and evening as you please. Meals B

FORT PULASKI / HILTON HEAD Visit Fort Pulaski National Monument, where military history was forever changed during a Civil War battle that saw the introduction of “rifled cannons.” Spend the night on Hilton Head Island, bordered by one of the few unspoiled marine estuaries on the U.S. east coast. Following dinner at your resort, you’ll go on a journey through the roots of Gullah culture, from Africa to the Carolina coast, with folktales by master storyteller Aunt Pearlie Sue; her warmth, humor and exuberance will be long remembered.
