You’ll find the soul of New Mexico in colonial treasures like San Francisco de Asís Church or in centuries-old Native American crafts
The soul of the Southwest...
Drawn by ancient, sun-baked pueblos and Spanish mission architecture, relentless sunshine, otherworldly desert landscapes and a rich mix of cultural, culinary and spiritual traditions, a new generation of artists “discovered” New Mexico early in the 20th century. They came, they saw, they painted, they photographed... among them Georgia O’Keeffe, Ansel Adams and many more... and their visionary images revealed the soul of the Southwest to the rest of America. You’ll sense it in the places they depicted, like Carlsbad Caverns, Pueblo de Taos, the dunes of White Sands and San Francisco de Asís Church... celebrate it in the artistic traditions of Albuquerque and Santa Fe... and savor it in the many and varied flavors of the region’s colorful cuisine...
