METALCASTING SUPPLIES Yield Strength Test

Nanovea has introduced its patent pending method of reliably acquiring yield strength through indentation us- ing a cylindrical flat tip. Te new sys- tem could replace the traditional tensile testing machine for yield strength measurement. Te indentation mode of Nanovea’s Mechanical Tester gives yield strength data directly comparable to what is measured by traditional means. It is believed that the load per surface area at which the cylindrical flat tip penetrates, at increased speed, is directly linked to the load versus surface area at which the material starts

flowing in a tensile mode test. Visit www.nanovea.com for more information.

ABB Robotics now offers standardized packages of its motor and gear units to allow integrators to create custom external axis systems. Te packages are complete with cablings, serial measure-

High Temp Walk-In Oven

Grieve has fabricated a 1,200F walk-in oven for heat treating. Te unit stands at 48 in. wide x 180 in. deep x 72 in. high. Te oven has 10 in. insulated walls made up of 2 in. of 1,900F block and 8 in. of 10-lb./cu. ft. density rockwool, an aluminized steel exterior and a Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior. Te oven contains a 12,500 cu. ft./min- ute, 10-horsepower recirculating blower managing airflow from the front to rear.

Standardized Motor Packages for Robotic Motor and Gear Units

ment board box, optimization soft- ware and safety options. Te packages optimize integration and operation of additional robot axes, such as work- piece positioners, robot carriers, track

motions, and indexing conveyors. Te motor units come in four sizes, and the gear units come in the same versions

currently built into ABB’s positioners. Visit www.abb.com for more information.

Te oven is moveable by crane with inner and outer gaskets. Grieve also includes digital temperature program-

ming controls with the unit. Visit www.grievecorp.com for more information
