private equity firm purchased machine shop Dynamic Turbine LLC, Norcross, Ga., an operation started by Doelling to machine the same types of parts the metalcast- ing facility makes. “The combination of the invest-
ment casting expertise of TPC Castings with precision machin- ing capability creates a vertically- integrated provider of complete hot section parts manufacturing solutions for the global [turbine] marketplaces,” said Joseph Parzick, managing partner of Torque Capi- tal Group. According to Torque Capital
Group, TPC Castings is equipped with a fully automated and environmentally controlled shell molding line and vacuum induc- tion melting furnaces producing equiaxed, directionally solidified and single crystal castings. The facility also operates vacuum heat treat, can produce cored molds for hollow components and performs all nondestructive testing processes in-house. Torque Capital Group said it intends to actively partner with the manufacturing companies’ existing management teams to continue operating and improving the businesses.
