Here’s what people are saying about the 21 things project!

I originally took 21things4teachers for the CEU’s I needed to maintain my teaching certificate. Little did I know that this course would change the way I teach! I will be able to incorporate the 21 Things that I have learned into my curriculum. My students will be learning up to date technology applications and will have the skills to apply them to their own lifelong learning situations. Judy Hornberger, Fitgerald Public schools

Thank you so much! It was an amazing class, and although it was quite possibly the most work I’ve done for a graduate class, I believe that I took away more things from this class that I can use immediately and all year than any other class I have taken. Thanks again for all of your help and guidance! Sarah Bowman

The 21 Things for the 21st Century Educator has really changed my way of teaching and thinking. I have been through the Thoughtful Education training with Dr. Harvey Silver, a Marzano partner and I thought that I had a great understanding of the multiple learning styles and learning strategies. It wasn’t until I was finished with this class that I realized that I was missing a piece. I feel pretty technology savvy and was shocked by how much I was unaware of and how differently I could use the tools I already knew about. Amanda Johnson

I can’t begin to express my thanks enough to Jenn, Melissa, and Carolyn for how transformational this class has been. It has not only changed my skill set, but it has completely changed my thinking about instruction and learning. I can honestly say, I put more time and effort into this course than any grad course I took during my master’s program and beyond. But I wanted to do it and I saw the immediate results of how I was using these “Things” in my everyday leadership. This course should be required for every teacher, student teacher and administrator in public education. You and your team have developed something amazing. John Kraus

Thanks for the wonderful professional development. While it felt like I was drinking from a fire hose, I am quite convinced that this is the most effective professional development I have done since college. Richard Cook Stockbridge

Most all of the resources and tools are things that I will use in the future. My Masters was in integrating technology, and I believe that the

resources and content for this course nearly equal what I learned in my Masters courses. The information is priceless. Thanks you for all of you ongoing support, Sue Eshelman

century. Take this course for instance. I would have had to drive to IISD a few times per week for a month to take this course. Now, I can go through online tutorials for most of these applications, or learn by watching one of the webinars about the topic. It has been a great way for me to learn. I have not participated in one of the webinars yet, but being able to go to the recording has been great. Having PD like this makes for such better use of everyone’s time and energy. I am very happy with this course so far! Steve Blattert

Online professional development is definitely changing the face of PD for the 21st

This class is addicting! I feel like I have been talking about this class as if someone would talk if they just bought a new car! I have a lot of colleagues that have already/will be visiting my blog regularly to get links and descriptions of these new types of technology so that they can use them in their classroom. What fun I have been having so far! Allison Koepsell

As for the discussion about the perceived lack of rigor in taking an online class approach, any doubters ought to take the “21 Things” class and will soon see that this class beats a “Pay-Your-Fee-Get-Your-B” university class when it comes to academic rigor. Anonymous

“I love Google Docs and the way it allows for dialogue about data on a real time/any location basis. These have been a great tool for promoting PLC and shared ownership of student performance. Loving this class... and all that it is pushing me to think about and learn.” Theresa Reagan, Georgetown Elementary School Principal

“I have truly enjoyed the 21 Things For Administrators course. I felt that I was exposed to a variety of resources and tools that are available for technology that I can bring back to my building and explore further. I have already begun utilizing some of the tools and plan to spend some additional time this summer digging further into some of the things that were shared. Thank you for all of your work and feedback throughout

the course. “ Chris VanderSlice, Grandville Public Schools
