LA-BASED act Human Life straddle the pleasing point between electro, house and neon pop. Having been recently signed to Defected, big things no doubt beckon, and their debut single for the label ‘In It Together’ is out now with remixes from Shapeshifters, Louie Fresco and Director’s Cut, aka house legend Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper. THE recent riots sweeping across London have proved disastrous for a large number of music labels - mostly small independents - after a fire damaged a Sony/PIAS storage facility. On Monday night, a three- story warehouse in Enfield was burnt down. Record label Domino has been affected, whilst elsewhere Ninja Tune claims to have lost in excess of over 100,000 CDs and vinyl

Furthermore, the website Hypetrak reported that Beggars Group, who are associated with the likes of Rough Trade and 4AD, are understood to have lost their entire UK stock, estimated to be in excess of 750,000 copies and state that the strain of the fire means that it will take 10 days to replace CDs and at least three months to replace the vinyl stock.
