Widest range of Tape Splicing Systems
systems, our Double Splice Tapes provide a convenient way of splicing 8mm paper SM component tape without the need for tools or fixtures. Reel Sealers
A
When a partially used reel of surface mount components is put aside, it is good practice to secure the free tape end to stop it from unravelling. Already cut into lengths of 50mm and available in widths of 7mm and 11mm, our Reel Sealers have a small non-adhesive portion at one end to assist in their easy removal (saves somebody's finger nails!). Brass Shims Brass Shims are used as a popular and universal means of connecting SMD Tapes of any material or width.

range of 1.0mm pitch interconnects. The new M40 series consists of surface mount pin headers and sockets, providing a new cost effective solution for secure and highly reliable PCB to PCB connections. Benefiting from a low profile design and a dual beam contact system, the devices are aimed at design engineers seeking to reduce PCB sizes whilst not sacrificing connector reliability. M40 series 1.0mm pitch interconnects are available in dual row format and feature gold plated phosphor bronze contacts, surface mount solder tails and location pegs. Contact counts range from 2 x 3 up to a maximum of 2 x 25 positions. All components come packaged in tape and reel format for fully automatic pick and placement. A typical application for the new pin headers and sockets are mezzanine PCB assemblies.

TAK Series – Industrial USB Connectors W
hen a standard USB connector is not reliable enough in harsh environments or when
vibration is an issue Selwyn Electronics can offer a new range of latching USB 2.0 connector – TAK series connectors. These connectors have been developed particularly for industrial applications but could be used in any application that a standard USB would normally be used, but where mating reliability is more critical. These connectors are currently available with 4 or 6 contacts and have a positive latching
mechanism. They have been designed with a more robust body style than standard USB and also offer a 38% space saving over standard USB connectors. Other features of the TAK series connector are the three keying options to prevent incorrect connecting and also the option of a screw mounting flange. As well as supplying the connectors Selwyn can offer cable assemblies to your required length.

Kontron introduces Machine-to-Machine Smart Services Developer Kit
K
ontron today introduced its new machine-to-machine (M2M) Smart Services Developer Kit with a deployable Intel Atom processor-based services-ready
system. Developed in collaboration with Intel Corporation, the standards-based Computer-on-Module (COMs)-based kit is a powerful development and deployment solution that provides simple ‘plug & play’ capability enabling designers to develop and test their application’s connectivity and performance, then quickly deploy. The Kontron M2M Smart Services Developer Kit is designed to meet customer needs for accelerated M2M connected-computing launch schedules of smart services that utilize cloud-based computing to communicate and aggregate data on edge node and gateway devices. The kit uses the COM Express compatible Kontron Computer-on-Module nanoETXexpress-TT powered by the Intel Atom processor and includes a M2M System Carrier Board and an AV board to support headed configuration use.

MS Electronics launch a new range of OLED displays. Building on the success of the DOG and EDIP display ranges , these OLED displays offer a direct replacement for many common 8x2, 16x2 (2 different character heights), character displays.
20x2 and 20x4 With an industry
standard 4 and 8 bit interface, wide operating temperature range (-40 to+80 oC) and high contrast of 2000:1 along with a built-in controller and English, Japanese, European and Cyrillic characters sets as standard they make for a very flexible device. Available initially in the popular yellow on black colour scheme, they offer full contrast even down to -40oC, fast operation of 10uS and an unlimited viewing angle.
Low-power and capable of operating from 3.3V and 5V without modification they are well suited to industrial and instrumentation applications.

PC Hero is pleased to announce that it has added Bel Power’s SLIN Series of non-isolated, point-of-load (POL) DC/DC converters to its portfolio of parts targeting distributed power architectures and intermediate bus voltage applications. The SLIN Series features
Tunable Loop™
technology which allows engineers to optimise the dynamic response of the converter to match their specific load requirements. Thus minimising the quantity, type and size of the capacitors needed, offering significant cost and performance advantages over other solutions and technologies. Other features include Remote on/off and remote Over-current and Over-temperature
sense,
protection, and Output voltage sequencing. The SLIN Series operates over a wide input voltage range (2.4 to 14V) and provides a precise output of 0.59V to 5.5V (programmable via an external resistor) with currents up to 30A. Packaged in a standard Distributed-power Open Standards Alliance (DOSA) footprint, the SMT modules offer OEMs/ODMs flexibility and efficiency without compromising development schedules
