Semantico helps McGraw- Hill with redesign
McGraw-Hill Professional has picked Semantico to deliver a large scale redesign of McGraw- Hill’s AccessEngineering. The new AccessEngineering site promises to feature remote access for library patrons, allow users easy access to the wealth of knowledge on the site via a customer-centric design and use a multi-media format to engage and captivate users.
It will also provide textual annotation and highlight features, have a search-based interface with rich semantic linking to generate relevant results and feature social media integration. In addition, the platform will provide an enterprise access management system and support an e-commerce system.

PCTFULL can now be searched by numeric properties in STN
Numerical searching of the full texts of WIPO patent applications in the PCTFULL database is now possible on the STN platform, thanks to a new search feature developed by FIZ Karlsruhe. The tool enables users to limit a keyword search by also specifying attributes such as particles in the nanoscale, catalytic reactions at low temperatures, or mixtures in a
certain percentage range. More than 30 physical properties are indexed and searchable, most of them as base or derived SI units. Almost 400 further units and spelling variants are converted to SI units in order to encompass a wider range of retrievable values. Intervals contained in the text are also recognised.
