Red Sea waterparks WhiteWater in Egypt
Coral Sea Splash Resort is the name of Egypt’s newest waterpark. Located in the fashionable Banq area of Sharm El Sheikh, the facility features a package of attractions from WhiteWater including a SuperBowl Complex, Boomerango, three- lane Whizzard mat racer, open slides, tube slides, an AquaPlay interactive play structure, family wave pool and toddler spray area. The venue also features WhiteWater’s first ever FlowRider following its sales/manufacture agreement with Wave Loch. Elsewhere in the resort can be
found a health club, spa and 210 guest rooms including swim-up rooms and family units that sleep up to six adults. "WhiteWater is helping us build the best amusement facilities in the area with their inspiring design and attractions," says Ahmed Al Wassief, managing director of the Wings Group, which manages Coral Sea’s resorts around the Nile region. Scheduled to open this summer, 80km across the Red Sea in Hurghad, will be Makadi Palace, where Whitewater has designed, manufactured and installed the waterpark component. As well as the Middle East’s first AquaLoop looping waterslide, attractions will include a FlowRider, four innertube slides, a family wave pool and a pirate-themed AquaPlay RainFortress surrounded by AquaSpray interactive elements and an AquaTune musical feature.
Worlds of Fun 2011
Worlds of Fun, Kansas City, Missouri, has unveiled over $8 million in improvements, including a brand new kids area. Planet Snoopy boasts seven new Zamperla rides themed around the Peanuts characters highlighted by a 40ft-tall balloon tower ride. Little ones can take a trip on new car and truck rides, teacups, or hop on board a spinning tug boat. Integrated into the area are several older rides from the park’s former Camp Snoopy area, bringing Planet Snoopy’s total rides, shows, and attractions to over 20. Also new part of the line-up for 2011, is the 1926 MC Illions Supreme Carousel, featuring 64 carved jumping horses and two. The ride is one of only two operating in the world and spent a large part of its life in Geauga Lake, Ohio (a sister Cedar Fair property).

Grand Reef at Discovery Cove
Discovery Cove, Sea World Orlando’s all- inclusive tropical retreat where guests swim with dolphins, is offering a new, immersive experience. The Grand Reef features multiple levels of exploration, from shallow waters to deeper swimming adventures and white sandy beaches, to snorkelling among canyons inspired by reefs from around the world. “The Grand Reef takes Discovery Cove’s
world-class animal encounters to an all new level – several, actually,” highlights Stewart Clark, the park’s vice-president.

Visitors can step into tranquil, shallow waters to discover a below-the-surface world teeming with sea life, or they can snorkel in deeper waters as thousands of exotic fish and graceful rays swim around them. Guests can take paths and bridges to the reef’s islands and hidden grottos as they delve into the reef from above, around and below.
Those looking for an even more exhilarating adventure can take part in
SeaVenture, an underwater walking tour. Wearing dive helmets, guests will discover lionfish and other unique animals, including – safely behind panoramic windows – sharks.
