Why attend careers fairs?
Careers fairs are more than just a chance to pick up free pens and lollies!
Job hunting can be a difficult, time-consuming task. Careers fairs are a fantastic way to get on track and discover which employers are looking for students just like you.
You can also gain knowledge about employment and work experience opportunities across many different areas – and more specifically your field of study – often without even having to leave your uni campus!
Research is one of the most powerful tools in the job hunting process. Careers fairs offer a great opportunity to meet with employers and learn about what they’re offering, their application process and the type of people they’re looking to recruit. Talking face-to-face with employers at a fair is also a terrific way to get a foot in the door and set yourself apart from other applicants.
Attend with an open mind and some questions prepared and you might just discover the gateway to your dream career!

Nearly three-quarters of all bachelor degree graduates who actively sought employment in 2010 did so by means
of internet advertising. Around four in ten graduates approached employers directly to find a job.
