Wise Has Winning Qualities For Junior Girls Scholarship

rieana Wise of Mount Wolf, Pennsylvania, has been named the winner of the Ladies

Auxiliary National Junior Girls Scholarship. The 15-year-old member of Junior Girls Unit 2493, Mount Wolf, will be awarded a $7,500 scholarship to be held in trust until her college enrollment.

Brieana currently has two intentions for her future. She enjoys being with children and hopes to pursue future opportunities

A sampling of Brieana’s Auxiliary and community activities: • Promoted the display of and distribution of yellow ribbons as reminders of deployed soldiers • Visited veterans at the VA Medical Center • Assisted the Auxiliary with refreshment stands for local events • Decorated blankets and made care packages for deployed soldiers • Delivered speech at school Veterans Day program • Presented Flag with Post and Auxiliary to new middle school

Brieana’s hopes for her future include working with children and managing a business.

to work with them. She also sees earning a business degree as essential preparation for eventually managing her father’s business or a store. With nearly five years as a Junior Girl, Brieana is now serving her second term as Unit President after holding the offices of Conductress, Patriotic Instructor, Color Bearer, Veterans & Family Support and Americanism Chairman.

She loves being active in her Unit

for three important reasons. The reward of “seeing people’s faces when you help them” is one. The sisterly bond with other members of her Unit is another. Showing her gratitude to her father is also extremely important. “By seeing what I accomplish as a Junior girl, he will understand I don’t do these things just for me, I do it to show veterans and soldiers that they matter and to thank them.”
