Chairman’s welcome Dear friends and colleagues

It is with great pleasure that I welcome all our loyal exhibitors and newcomers to the UK’s Number One plant and waste outdoor event. Despite these very diffi cult trading times, I am delighted that

so many of you have made the effort to support the PAWRS team and this great venue on the English Riviera. The team and I have been working very hard over the last 12

months. We have been sending out invitations and notifying as many companies as possible who are involved in waste to ensure we get a good attendance at this year’s event. I would like to pay a special thanks to Alan Bowman, Sophie Lipscombe, Becky Webster and Katy Spry who are the backbone behind PAWRS. Without such a fantastic and dedicated team, my job would have been a lot harder. There is a huge welcome to our new media partner, Recycling

& Waste World, namely Jon Benson, Jane Kennedy and Geraldine Faulkner for their help and support. I would also like to thank members of Torbay Council who

have supported our show and also a fi nal ‘thank you’ goes to Debbie Higham of Skip Magazine for her continual support. It is also my intention to keep the costs for exhibitors to a minimum for show stands and I am pleased to announce that I will continue to provide free forklift hire. The staff at PAWRS will look after all exhibitors during set-up and breakdown. We strive to provide the exhibitors with the best service and this was recognised from last year’s show due to all our repeat bookings for this year. We intend to maintain this high level of service for years to come and thank you all once again for your support. As some of you may be aware, the Chartered Institution of

Wastes Management has teamed up with the Recycling & Waste Management (RWM) exhibition as the CIWM could not sustain

the high levels of expense when putting on a show in London. It was a disastrous decision moving from Paignton to London due to all the heavy plant and machinery being set up. Paignton is a fantastic venue with a lot more to offer at a reasonable expense to the exhibitors and I am pleased we continue to run PAWRS each year from this special location. I look forward to welcoming you all to our show and to

networking evenings in which old and new exhibitors can mingle and build relationships for future business. Finally, thank you for supporting the Plant and Waste

Recycling Show and I look forward to many more years at this venue.
