BRING YOUR OPERATIONS LEADERSHIP TO THIS MANDATE … IN TORONTO, CANADA

At the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), we place a high value on establishing a workplace where people are challenged and respected every day, and we keep Toronto moving with a dedication to service, safety and convenience that is unparalleled in our industry. With nearly half a billion individual passenger trips each year, and an annual operating budget of $1.5 billion, the TTC is a vital link for the people who call Canada’s most diverse city their home.

Chief Operating Officer

This senior role is an exceptional career opportunity for an operations executive who shares our commitment to quality customer service. Reporting to the Chief General Manager, you will draw on your in-depth knowledge of technical and operational issues inherent in the delivery and management of rail, bus and paratransit operations in a major urban transportation system, to ensure that all City of Toronto public transit users enjoy safe, reliable services. You will integrate the business and operating strategies of the Branch into the overall TTC business plan, and strengthen a culture of high-level customer service within the operating service delivery model. Integral to your success as COO in our unionized environment will be your proven expertise in collective bargaining, and your ability to promote harmonious relationships with unions. With extensive, senior-level transit management experience, you are conversant with HR practices

and legislation, laws and regulations pertaining to safety, employment standards and human rights, and the formulation of complex budgets, strategic goals, and business objectives and policies. Graduate studies in Business Administration or equivalent are preferred, as is P. Eng. status in Ontario or eligibility for PEO registration.

Full details on this and other opportunities may be found on our website. To apply, please send your resume, in confidence, by June 17, 2011, quoting Ref. #7862-RP, to: Toronto Transit Commission, Human Resources Department, Employment Services, 1138 Bathurst Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5R 3H2. E-mail (MS Word format): jobs@ttc.ca.

The TTC is an equal opportunity employer.
