Chilver is new ops director for Cubic
Steve Chilver has been appointed operations director at Cubic Transportation Systems, the provider of automated fare collection systems for public transport. Chilver, 50, has extensive
background in the rail industry spanning more than 20 years, and has previously held senior management positions at Amey Infrastructure and Thales.
Crossrail names new chief executive as Wolstenholme n
Andrew Wolstenholme has been named as Crossrail’s new chief executive, succeeding Rob Holden, who is stepping down in mid-July. Wolstenholme, currently
director of innovation and strategic capability with Balfour Beatty, will join Crossrail in September. He was formerly project
director for the construction of Heathrow Terminal 5 and oversaw construction of the £4bn terminal on time, and on budget. He also acted as construction director on the Heathrow Express Rail Link and as BAA’s director of capital projects. Crossrail chairman Terry
Morgan said: ‘I’m delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Wolstenholme as Crossrail’s new chief executive. ‘Andrew is an outstanding
candidate to oversee the delivery of
this critically important project for London and the UK.’ Wolstenholme, who graduated from Southampton University in 1981 with a first-class honours degree in civil engineering, began his engineering career in the British Army, first in the Royal Engineers and later as an Irish Hussar. He has also worked on
buildings in Chicago and various infrastructure projects in Hong Kong, including its airport. He was awarded an OBE for
services to the construction industry in June 2009.
