Based at Dundas Buildings in Bonnyrigg you will manage the electrical and mechanical services of the Council buildings and the facilities services for a range of Council buildings. You will be responsible for the Councils energy strategy and managing the Councils energy expenditure and budget.


You will be capable of leading the engineering, energy and facilities teams setting and delivering service standards and outcomes. Preferably you will hold a degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent, plus professional membership of the CIBSE, IEE or IMEC and have extensive previous experience of engineering, building maintenance and energy management for substantial commercial or public premises. In exceptional circumstances equivalent experience will be considered where an applicant can demonstrate their competence with the relevant professional membership requirements. In this instance it will be a contractual obligation that you attain membership of the professional body within two years of commencing employment with the Council.
