Measuring mobility
Wyatt Technology Corporation, a leader in instrumentation for absolute macromolecular characterisation, has published a brochure in support of its new electrophophoretic mobility instrument, the Möbiuζ. The brochure outlines the capabilities of The Möbiuζ, including an increased number of detectors at a variety of angles which produce a greater amount of data than any other ‘zeta- potential’ instrument. The surfeit of data results in the
production of more reproducible results than ever before. The brochure highlights that the instrument is up to ten times more sensitive than the other instruments on the market and the first and only light scattering instrument that makes reliable, reproducible and non-destructive electrophoretic mobility measurements of macromolecules as small as 1nm while under dilute solution conditions. Furthermore, The Möbiuζ can collect 30 times as much data as conventional technologies and produce the result in as few as 30 seconds. The brochure details the
technology used by The Möbiuζ. Using Massively Parallel Phase Analysis Light Scattering to measure nanoparticles means results can be produced faster than ever before.

GMP production of oligos for diagnostic use
Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), a leader in oligonucleotide synthesis, has extended its proven expertise in oligo research, development and production to clinical and commercial OEM customers. Its Clinical and Commercial Manufacturing (CCM) facility is dedicated to the GMP production of oligos for diagnostic use. With the need for fully compliant oligos in the clinical sector, the production facility is fully ISO 13485:2003 certified, and registered with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). IDT’s CCM facility manufactures
oligos to meet any defined specifications, and customers are able to maintain total control over the entire process. With guaranteed stability and lot retention, CCM oligos are manufactured in a dedicated cleanroom facility to eliminate the
potential for any contamination, and each oligo order undergoes strict QC and HPLC purification. The CCM suite is also a contract manufacturer of in vitro diagnostic devices (IVDs), analyte- specific reagents (ASRs) and nucleic acid testing (NAT). With flexible, user-defined ordering methods, the complete process is
easily managed and tailored to meet each individual need. A dedicated IDT customer manager acts as a single point of contact, providing clinical and commercial manufacturing clients with the highest level of customer service.

Multi-channel thermocouple data logger for high-accuracy measurement
ITT Corporation has announces the introduction of the first of the ebro EBI 40 multi-channel data loggers from ITT Analytics. The 12-channel thermocouple data logger is suitable for thermal mapping in food, industrial, pharmaceutical and general lab applications, offering simple and high-accuracy measurement over wide temperature ranges. The easy-to-use ebro EBI
40 multi-channel thermocouple data logger from ITT Analytics, has been designed for a wide- range of applications including the measurement of core temperatures during baking processes, monitoring baking and freezing procedures and validation of dry heat sterilizers. In addition, the system enables simple qualification of coating lines and heat distribution studies in thermal chambers. Offering precise
The instrument also provides users with increased productivity and performance, resulting in significant cost savings and increased product output. The EBI 40 data logger offers
the flexibility of a wide temperature measurement range, from -200°C to 1200°C. Measurement intervals are also operator programmable from 0.1 second to 24 hours. The system is capable of storing up to 240 000 values per channel, while its large colour display allows users to inspect measurement values continuously. In addition to standard programming and data retrieval by the software, the USB connection enables these functions to be facilitated via USB stick offering greater flexibility for field applications.
quality control of processes due to constant temperature monitoring, the data logger ensures repeatability.
