Founded in 1999 by Jean-Michel Cousteau, environmental advocate and son of the legendary Jacques Cousteau, the mission of the Ocean Futures Society is to explore our global oceans, inspiring and educating people throughout the world to act responsibly for their protection. For over 60 years, Jean-Michel Cousteau, his father, and family have been part of the greatest exploration of the ocean in all of history. Mr. Cousteau will join us on the July 11, 2012, sailing to the Society Islands & Tuamotus, theNovember 20, 2012, sailing to Fiji, Tonga, Cook & Society Islands, and theDecember 1, 2012, sailing to theMarquesas, Tuamotus & Society Islands. As our special guest, he will offer a series of lectures with videos of his work in the world’s oceans, as well as accompany several dives from the ship.


Ambassadors of the Environment Youth Program Created by explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau and his Ocean Futures Society, Ambassadors of the Environment Youth Program is a unique, groundbreaking program that introduces young travelers to the extraordinary natural wonders of French Polynesia through direct, hands-on, interactive learning. Young Ambassadors (ages 9-17) will explore coral reefs, hike rainforest trails, visit marae (ancient Polynesian temples), and more. Parents have an option to join children on eco-excursions and other activities aboard and ashore.


Tis program is available on all cruises departing from June 2 through August 18, 2012 and on December 22 and 29, 2012, holiday cruises for a nominal fee of $299 per child.
