Aalborg is Denmark’s ‘feel good’ city with its relaxed and happy atmosphere. It is also the city of art and culture. The waterfront masterpiece, the Utzon Centre, puts Aalborg fi rmly on the international architectural map while Culture Center Nordkraft attracts major events. The legendary Jomfrue Ane Street is Denmark’s answer to Temple Bar in Dublin. Skagen, at the top of Denmark, is where two seas meet spectacularly and where artists fl ock to experience the special light. The distinct red rooftops and yellow painted houses frame an idyllic fi shing village known for its shellfi sh specialities. Ribe, Denmark’s oldest town, has a renowned living museum, the Ribe Viking Centre, that takes you back in time to a Ribe of 825AD. Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark, is a
vibrant, youthful place with a thriving waterfront area (Vadestedet) that is jammed with hip hangouts. The Old Town, one of Denmark’s most popular living museums, and the art museum, ARoS - among the largest in northern Europe - add to a colourful holiday experience. Amusements and fun awaits visitors in Tivoli Friheden, where you can get an amazing view of the city from Denmark’s tallest ferris wheel. Funen, the garden isle of Denmark and birthplace of the eccentric storyteller Hans Christian Andersen, is engagingly beautiful with its adorable farmhouses and the white sand beaches. At the must-see Egeskov castle, the the fairytale gardens bloom with romance but beware of getting lost in the giant mazes! The fairytale continues at beautiful Valdemar castle, owned by the Danish Baroness Caroline Fleming.
