COMIN’ UP DJMAG’S TOP 100 CLUBS POLL THE PEOPLE SPEAK IN
For the second year running, DJmag has offered you the chance to decide who tops our prestigious, industry-defining Top 100 Clubs poll.
Providing a showcase for the movers and the shakers of the club circuit today, the poll is not only a barometer for industry success (and, in turn, quality) but also a document of worldwide clubbing demographics, a forum for questions that need answering. Which club scenes are taking over? Where in the
world is the most competition? Which clubs are coming up? Which are crashing like a sore head the morning after Glade?
Cross-referenced with last year’s results (our first-ever Top 100 Clubs public vote), this year unveils the movements of a constantly-evolving industry and serves as a record of those who’ve have provided you with the most joyous, sleep-deprived night over the last twelve months…
BEAR HUGS ALL ROUND
The acclaimed project of Joe Goddard from Hot Chip and London music scene mover ‘n’ shaker Raf Daddy, The 2 Bears have a new EP out in a few weeks on Southern Fried. The four-track ‘Bear Hug EP’, out on June 20th, and forthcoming album signals that this is more than just a hobby for the big Hot Chip man. Lead track ‘Take A Look Around’ features Alice Gold and Bear-man Raf Daddy himself on vocals,
a languid slice of deep tech that moves into full- on big room house as it progresses over seven minutes. ‘In My Brain Is Like A Computer’ is a kind of bashment thing with cowbells, while housey chugger ‘Bear Hug’ features a deep growling voice. EP closer ‘Banger’, meanwhile, does indeed bang like a dark techy beast.
