Under Construction A New World Map
The new extended continental shelf limits will radically transform the world map. The geology and mor- phology of the land has previously played a role in boundary delimita- tion (i.e. mountain ranges, rivers, etc.) because of its influence on the dispersion of culture, economy or on the sustainable expansion of mil- itary power. The location of these new continental shelf limits be- yond 200 M is also influenced by geology and morphology – the shape and composition of the continental margins is gov- erned by tectonic, magmatic and sedimentary processes.
