Ojibway religious sites on Black Island, to the network of reefs and tiny islands of the Cairine and Kasakeemeemisikak arch- ipelagos on Lake Winnipeg’s eastern shore. CONDITIONS: The Narrows of Lake Winnipeg has sheltered waters among the islands, minimal cur- rents and warm water in summer. Beware of wind, particularly if heading around Grindstone Point to visit Wells Harbour.


WILDLIFE: Bald eagle, American white pelican, black bear, wolf, lynx, moose, fisher.
