Disclosure of errors, early settlement and healthcare courts are some of the ideas getting attention for their ability to resolve cases involving injuries allegedly caused by healthcare providers.


These alternative approaches can offer vast benefits that extend well beyond the resolution of individual cases. They foster a culture in which the risk management and patient safety functions work closely together, so that information that comes out of the investigation of cases can be used to improve safety.
