Reaching the land of enchantment


he population of New Mexico is heavily made up of Native American and Hispanic people, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Together these two groups make up about half of the state’s population; over 10% of the total population is Native American and an overwhelming 45% is Hispanic. The state is heavily influenced by the culture and history of these people groups. Missionary Jim Turnbo says it is a mission field of 90% lostness among the people groups identified in the four counties of New Mexico where he serves.
