WHO THEY ARE: A three-campus church seeking to reach arts, collegiate, Jewish and multi-ethnic communities in the greater Philly
area. “People don’t think ‘church’ up here,” says Kieffer. “We’re reach- ing a generation who never went to Sunday school, whose parents never went to Sunday school, and whose grandparents never went to Sunday school.”
WHERE THEY MEET: The main campus meets in Wallingford, Pennsylvania, on Sunday mornings, with satellite churches meeting
elsewhere in the city, including two university campuses.
WHAT THEY DO: Through the arts, through ministries of mercy and through one-on-one relationship building, the members of The Foundry Church take an incarnational approach to reaching the city for Christ. Drama opportunities and movie nights provide engagement with the arts community. Involving members and even non-members in ministry efforts to low-income areas has demonstrated to the com- munity that The Foundry wants to be the church to its community.
HOW TO PRAY: Pray that God would soften the soil in Philly where so many people are skeptical about God and religion, Pray
for future church plants in the city and for leaders to emerge as the Foundry mentors members in disciple-making.
