Interxion announces Dublin expansion
Interxion has expanded its recently opened Dublin 2 data centre. The expansion of the facility is in response to consistently rising demand from colocation customers, in particular customers in the fast-growing digital media, carrier and cloud service sectors. Including the investment made to build and equip the new data centre, this latest expansion brings Interxion’s total investment in the new facility to EUR 13 million in the last 18 months.
The new phase of Interxion’s data centre will provide an additional 900m2 of net space, increasing Interxion’s overall capacity to 1,700m2 of equipped space.
The project also includes the delivery of an additional 1200kW of high- density power to the site, helping meet the growing need for energy-efficient, high-power-density infrastructure, a key requirement for the latest virtualized servers. Work has already

When looking for a data centre, it needed to ensure that significant provision of power and resiliency for its IT services, as well as the physical capacity to enable growth.
Ryan O’Reilly, Head of Telecoms Infrastructure and Networks at Outsourcery, comments: “We chose TelecityGroup’s Powergate facility because it is one of the most advanced data centres in the UK.
“The power availability is the key differentiator for us; the supply of 20kW per rack ensures that we have scope to grow, and this is vitally important for the virtual cloud services we will be providing from the facility. Additionally, it is centrally located making it easy for our engineers to visit.”
