Did you know that Track was the original event of the fi rst
Olympic Games in 776BC? Taking place in Olympia, Greece, the “stadion” was the fi rst event of the Games and featured runners sprinting for 1 stade (192m), or the length of the stadium. Olympic competitions continued every four years and events were added including longer running races plus the javelin, long jump and discus.
