Sizzling Spring Runs
The Dumoine is a true classic whitewater canoe tripping river. Slicing through the Canadian Shield in a remote area of West- ern Quebec, the Dumoine consists of more than 144 kilometres of river with many rapids that can be run spring, summer and fall. This river can be ideal for beginner to advanced-level wil- derness trippers, with beautiful camping along the way.
Palmer Rapids, Madawaska River Palmer Rapids on the Madawaska River may be Canada’s best place to learn the basics of whitewater paddling. The class II and III rapids run from the beginning of May until late October. This short whitewater section can be very exciting in high water and warm, technical fun in the summertime.
Barron Canyon, Barron River
The Barron Canyon is a seven kilometre route that is one of the most popular and awe-inspiring of the all the routes in Algon- quin Park. A perfect one-way excursion begins at Brigham Chute paddling down to Squirrel Rapids. While you’re there, hike the Barron Canyon Trail that takes you to the breathtaking view that overlooks your route.
