Are We Growing Disciples?


IF ASKED TO NAME the original 12 disciples of Jesus, you probably could quickly list Peter, James, and John . . . but it might take some thought (or research) to name Thaddaeus and Bartholomew.


Could you name a dozen people in your world who are disciples of Jesus? When Jesus called two fishermen to be His disciples, He said, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matt. 4:19). Besides being followers who are in relationship with Jesus, dis- ciples are fishers who help other people know and serve Him.


Our prayer is that this issue of the


Evangel will challenge readers to hear and heed God’s call to both be disciples and make disciples.
