Y VISION FOR Pathway Press is a direct product of my per- sonal background in ministry. I have spent the last 28 years in a state office setting: 24 years as a youth and Christian education director, and four years as an administrative bishop. Serving the local church is engrained in the DNA of my personal ministry. It is what I have been doing for nearly three decades. At Pathway, we will strongly focus on resourcing the local church. Since we basically exist to serve the local churches in the Church of God, a vital part of our mission and vision will be to resource the individuals that comprise these local bodies across our movement. It is our goal to find vacuums of need that exist in the various areas of ministry within the local church and do our best to fill them. At Pathway, we will continually ask ourselves, “What can we produce for the ministry personnel within the local church that they do not have the time and resources to develop for themselves?” Our desire is not just to resource the local church, but to do so with excellence. To achieve this, there will be an ongo- ing effort to restructure for reliability. Pathway Press will continue to focus on dependability and customer service. In our pursuit of excellence in resourcing, a primary goal will be to retool for rel- evancy. Putting a new coat of paint on
an old car and calling it new will not cut it in today’s world. It is important for us to be relevant in today’s marketplace and provide cutting-edge resources for our local churches.
Another goal of Pathway Press is to be accessible to serve the various ministry needs of our international church. Culti- vating key partnerships with the various departments of the Church of God can serve as a safety net for everyone involved. In light of the reallocation of resources, this can be the key in doing more with less.
Standing together will enable us to achieve what we could not do by standing alone. At Pathway Press, we fully understand that serving you is a privilege. We are not entitled to the business of our local churches, even though we were created to be the arm of publications for the Church of God. We must earn your trust to be your servants. That is what we are committed to do. As the director of pub- lications, I want the entire constituency of the Church of God to know that we are listening. What you have to say to us is extremely important. We are your Publishing House, and we want you to be proud of what we do.
Steve Holder, Coordinator of Church Relations
to share in ministry with pastors and worship leaders along with their families across the country. These are the true heroes of the church—the ministers who give of themselves for the kingdom of God. I am constantly amazed at the commitment level of our ministers, and it is my goal to do everything pos- sible to assist and help
strengthen these wonderful people. “I have met pastors who have given up important positions with exceptional salaries to lead a church that was about to close.
Other pastors have sacrificed their salary to care for the church staff during difficult financial times. Time or space would not allow me to tell you of the hundreds and even thousands of pastors who work two jobs to care for their families while pas- toring their churches. We have a blessed church, and I am honored to be part of it.” Steve added, “God has a plan for us all, and everyone is needed regardless of race, age, or gender. Everyone is important!” Steve would love to visit your church and provide resources that will encourage, train, and strengthen the congregation.
