eading sports bra brand, Shock Absorber, celebrates 15 years of providing
expert breast support to the UK upgrading its D+ Max Sports Bra this autumn.
According to the company, research shows that the number of women exercising in the UK has risen to 12 million, up 17% on 2005 figures and the value of the sports bra market increased last year by 22%, reflecting an awareness of the need to wear correct breast support during sport. However, with 8.2 million women not wearing a sports bra whilst exercising, this represents an opportunity for education and conversion to purchase, the company said.

atest addition to Mizuno’s football range is the SuperSonic Wave boot. Developed for high speed play, the boot features a new Feather Touch System (FTS) that employs low rebound sponge on the forefoot to aid ball control while dribbling at speed, Mizuno claim. Stability in the upper is provided by structural overlays. Said to be Mizuno’s lightest and most innovative outsole yet, the SuperSonic Wave weighs only 215 gms, combined with high grade kangaroo leather and suede collar lining for optimum fit and comfort. Stability and cushioning is enhanced with the wave configuration in the heel, while dual density studs aim to optimise comfort whatever the conditions. A
tiger claw stud structure is intended to improve acceleration and lateral stability for high speed control. Recommended retail price is £100.

K-Swiss teams up with P2i K
-Swiss has linked up with P2i liquid repellent nano-coating technology for its Kwicky Blade- Light and California product lines launching in February.
Both shoe models have been developed with P2i’s ion-mask technology which applies a protective polymer layer enabling liquids to roll off instead of being absorbed by the fabric. This is said to stop external water being absorbed whilst encouraging evaporated perspiration to flow out. David Bond, Vice President of Product for K-Swiss said: “ The addition of P2i’s ion-mask technology, positions the latest additions to the K-Swiss family at the cutting edge of sports footwear.”
