Microgeneration
Energy revolution is possible – if the policies are right
David Cameron’s Big Society concept lends itself nicely to the microgeneration of energy. If the Coalition gets its policies right, there could be a revolution in the way in which we use, generate and consume energy in the UK – decentralising our energy generation with community groups, schools and local busi- nesses making their own electricity and heat using small-scale clean energy technologies. It
is a big ‘if’, but it is achievable, as
this special supplement, sponsored by BSI, explains. Here you will find a deciphering of the Government’s current plans and a look at the fiscal incentives available, not least the

With energy prices set to soar in the com- ing years, now might be the right time to start thinking about what the future will look like – and to take charge of your own energy destiny.
