PDF/X-1a 1.3 compliant


Files must be CMYK, images should be high resolution 300 dpi, with ALL fonts embedded and OPi settings switched off.


File must NOT contain any transparent elements and must be flattened.


Files must contain crop marks and show bleed. Further information can be found at www.adobe.com Acrobat Distiller options available on request. If you are unable to supply a PDF, we


will also accept digital copy in the following file formats. A colour proof must be supplied.


QuarkXpress/Adobe Illustrator / PhotoShop / InDesign*


Due to the variations that can be created, we can only accept PDF files exported from the above applications.

If outputting to PDF, ensure ALL fonts and images are embedded.


Files should be created via a postscript format and then distilled through Distiller rather than exporting straight from InDesign.


OPi setting should NOT be applied. Live Matter


This should be at least 10mm from the trim edges. Gutter Allowance


Where text spans the spine gutter of a double page spread it should be positioned 5mm from each side of the centre line in addition to the normal word or letter spacing (i.e. 10mm plus normal word or letter spacing). Please note that when a single


graphic spans across the centre of a double page spread it is subject to the normal tolerances of perfect binding.


NB: Any file supplied non-CMYK, may print with unexpected results,due to possible colour shifts during CMYK conversion. Please ensure that ALL elements are CMYK before preflight.

Place any advertisements directly into the root directory and select the folder for the magazine it is for. For identification purposes the file name must include the advertisers name, and issue date. Please also send email with your name, contact number and confirmation that ad has been placed on the FTP site.
